These are the times that try men's souls.

Truer words could not have described my day at work today. Busy I can handle, today was ludicrous. So, how did this affect my new way of eating? At one point I had to take some work into another area and almost forgot myself and grabbed candy out of their dish. It was totally unconscious. Then I remembered and walked away empty handed. Made me feel pretty good to walk away from that little piece of candy.

Tomorrow is a birthday celebration at work. This will be a true test. For all of you that work with me, keep me honest : )

One small step at a time! Keep your goals small, losing 2 lbs this week, celebrating a birthday without eating the food or taking Sadie for a walk today are accomplishments.

If you look only toward the long term goals (your 50th birthday) you will be disappointed. Take it from someone who knows! I've been telling myself that I need to be at a certain weight by the Wedding. Will I get there? No, I've gone the other way, gaining instead of losing! I lost 50 lbs. in 18 months and gained almost 20 in 4 months!! Now my focus is on each day, each meal and embracing the hunger! Celebrate each accomplishment and don't beat yourself up when you fall.

We'll never be Biggest Loser material,(I know I've been talking to one of the recently booted off players, they workout 6-8 hours a day!!)but we can strive for fitness and small victories!

Good luck in your quest to be fit by 50. Love ya Sis! Judy

Hi Kathy,
I am so proud of you for putting this out there. It takes guts to do what you are doing. I am so with you on your journey. I started mine January 5. It has been slow, but I'm farther now, in 7 weeks than I would have been if I had not started. Days turn to weeks, weeks turn to months and before you know it, you'll be healthier and more fit just by living life each day. So good luck to you. I am here for your support if you'd like. If you need a "sponsor" while your at work...look me up! I am so determined to do this. I am NOT GIVING UP! Don't you give up either! I believe the easy part is losing the weight and the hard part is keeping it off....for life! You can do it!!!!
